You can see some of my work on show in Just Makers at Ripley Castle this month, including this charcoal and pastel drawing of The Penistone Sheep (Whitefaced Woodland Ewe).

I am delighted to be offering two new workshops for 2018 at the amazing setting of the Old House Studio in Glossop.

21st March 2018: Portraying Animals in Painterly Pastels

22nd March 2018: Dynamic Watercolour Landscapes.

These two workshops will introduce you to a free and expressive approach to creating pastels drawings and watercolours landscapes in the relaxed and friendly environment of the Old House Studio.

This course will give you the confidence to experiment with materials and techniques and help you to develop your own style. You will learn how to produce beautifully expressive images without being too concerned about detail.

On day one we will explore mark making techniques that will add life to your pictures and create a pastel drawing of an animal of your choice.

On day two we will experiment with watercolours and create atmospheric landscapes using an open and expressive approach to painting.

This course is for beginners through to artists with some experience. There will be demonstrations, one to one support and group tuition so you can be inspired, enjoy learning and develop your artistic skills.
